Empirical Protocol & E-E-A-T Standards

Our Testing Methodology

GameIndex was created to dismantle the lazy culture of automated, unverified web gaming guides. We operate on a dual-engine standard: empirical in-engine stress-testing combined with an automated facts-ledger that mathematically rejects ungrounded AI speculation.

Protocol 01

Combat & Shooter Testing: Millisecond TTK & Spray Audits

We never take official weapon stat cards at face value. In games like Apex Legends and Marvel Rivals, weapon damage is verified through hands-on testing in dedicated training arenas:

  • Instant First Shot & Cycle Rate: In Source and Unreal engines, the initial round fires at t = 0.00s. Our TTK formulas calculate exact millisecond deltas using (STK - 1) × (60 / RPM) plus empty-magazine reload penalties whenever Shots-to-Kill exceeds magazine size.
  • Recoil Pattern Plotting: Spray patterns are recorded at 20m and 35m against flat textured walls with zero mouse compensation. We isolate the initial 5-shot jump vector from sustained recoil smoothing curves to give players actionable muscle-memory pulldown instructions.
  • Armor & Passive Reduction Matrices: We test damage against all armor tiers (White, Blue, Purple, Red) and inject character-specific defensive modifiers, including Fortified passive (-15% bullet damage) and helmet headshot reduction tiers.
Protocol 02

Graphics & Performance: Dual-Bench Hardware Testing

Our PC Settings and FPS optimization guides are authored by our dedicated Hardware Lab, led by Dr. Arthur Chen. Rather than repeating developer baseline specs, we benchmark games across two standardized test rigs:

Bench Rig Alpha (High-Refresh / 1440p)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8C/16T, 3D V-Cache)
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30
  • Display: 360Hz Fast-IPS (NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer)
Bench Rig Beta (Mainstream / 1080p)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (6C/12T)
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4-3600 CL16
  • Display: 144Hz IPS Gaming Monitor

Using CapFrameX frame-time capture, every graphic setting (Volumetric Fog, Shadow Maps, Ambient Occlusion, TSR/DLSS scaling) is toggled individually through a 180-second reproducible benchmark loop. We measure Average FPS, 1% Low FPS, and 0.1% Low frame pacing spikes to identify the exact settings that bleed frame stability.

Protocol 03

Live Codes & Drop-Rate Auditing: Zero Stale Data

For live-service and community sandbox games like Fisch, where promo codes expire rapidly, our Sandbox Desk executes a continuous verification cycle:

  • Daily In-Client Redemption: Toby Lindqvist manually enters codes in the live client on fresh and high-level accounts to verify level requirements, reward strings, and active server status.
  • Immediate Expiry Flags: We never leave expired codes sitting in the active table. As soon as a code is revoked by developers, our database moves it to the Expired Archive within hours.
  • Empirical RNG Sampling: For item drop rates and mutation odds, we log multi-thousand sample catch logs rather than quoting unverified creator claims.
Protocol 04

The Automated Quality Gate & Zero-Hallucination Law

Every guide published on GameIndex must pass through an automated 8-check algorithmic quality gate before reaching production:

✓ Check 0: Zero Harvesting Gaps across required category pillars

✓ Check 0.6: Anti-Hardcode AST Inspection (all game data loaded from decoupled JSON)

✓ Check 1: Comprehensive word count (average >= 800 words, hard floor 600 words)

✓ Check 2: Absolute ban on AI boilerplate ("in conclusion", "delve into")

✓ Check 8: Fact Verification Ledger Audit (0.0% Hallucination Risk Score)

If any article makes an unverified factual claim that cannot be traced to official patch notes, developer announcements, or verified in-engine captures, the build fails and publication is permanently blocked.
